Our annual fall event, “Howdy,” helps raise money for Pi Phi’s national philanthropy, Read>Lead>Achieve. Sigma Pi Phi (ΣΠΦ) is the first non-collegiate African American fraternity.It is the oldest Black Greek-lettered organization. As a preeminent philanthropic organization, Alpha Phi Foundation is recognized for the strength of our endowment and for innovation in cultivating and sustaining donor participation. As one of WSU’s oldest chapters on campus, we have enjoyed over a 100 years of rich bonds of sisterhood. Throughout its history, Pi Beta Phi has helped young women develop meaningful relationships while reaching their personal potential through leadership opportunities. You make a difference for every Pi Phi by supporting leadership development, scholarships, reading initiatives, housing, heritage and grants for sisters in need. The women of Pi Phi are involved all over campus, and each one of us has different personalities, strengths, and attributes. Building this library is an observed need that I believe will have a ripple effect for families and individuals seeking mental health services in the Houston area. Like many sororities and fraternities, Pi Beta Phi members take part in a number of philanthropy programs. Literally tens of thousands of children were assisted through pi phi's literacy efforts in fy16-17 through specific initiatives like champions are readers, arrow in the arctic and the first book partnership.
